Bankart lesion


[Arthur Sidney Blundell Bankart, Brit. orthopedic surgeon, 1879-1951]
An avulsion injury of the anterior capsule and labrum of the glenoid rim of the glenohumeral joint. This lesion is a common cause of recurrent anterior glenohumeral dislocations or anterior glenohumeral instability.
