[retina + -pathy]
Any noninflammatory retinal damage or disease. It can cause gradual loss of vision or complete blindness if left untreated. It often results from another, systemic illness, e.g., hypertension or diabetes mellitus. SEE TABLE: Common Findings on Funduscopic Examination in Retinopathy
