hemangioma

[Pronunciation]
pl. pl. [″ + angeion, vessel, + oma, tumor]

A benign tumor composed of dilated blood vessels and often encapsulated within a fibrous shell.
Also called “cavernous hemangioma.” It may be found on the skin, or in an internal organ.
