A code of ethics that sets forth ethical principles for the physical therapy profession. According to its preamble, all physical therapists are responsible for maintaining and promoting ethical and competent practice and establishing a standard of conduct. This code of ethics, adopted by the Association (APTA), is binding on all physical therapists. Members who are found to be in breach of the ethical standards are subject to reprimand, probation, suspension, or expulsion.
