[Pronunciation]

The blocking of the formation of new blood vessels, esp. the blood vessels that grow under the influence of malignant tumors.
Numerous agents have such activity, including angiostatin, endostatin, tetracyclines, and paclitaxel, among others. They are useful in the treatment of cancer.
