acromioclavicular traction test

A maneuver used to identify acromioclavicular and costoclavicular ligament sprains.
As the patient sits or stands with the involved shoulder hanging in the neutral position, the clinician pulls the humerus down. A positive test result is marked by a visible separation between the acromion and distal clavicle.
