Presence of adhesions in the endometrial lining of the uterus, often causing secondary amenorrhea, infertility, or repeated spontaneous abortion. Its causes include endometritis, aggressive curettage used for the treatment of menorrhagia, removal of retained placental fragments, or termination of pregnancy.
