Arcanobacterium haemolyticum

(ar-kā″nō-bak-tēr′ē-ŭm hē″mŏ-lit′ĭ-kŭm )

A species of gram-positive, facultatively anaerobic bacteria that grow well in carbon dioxide-enriched environments. They may cause several infectious diseases, including exudative pharyngitis/tonsillitis, osteomyelitis, and sepsis.
